Pharmaceutical Technologist

About the role

Galaxy Hospital is seeking a diligent Pharmaceutical Technologist to join its pharmacy team. You will play a vital role in ensuring safe medication dispensing, supporting inventory management, and providing patient counseling within a busy hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and validate clinician prescriptions in line with hospital policies.
• Accurately dispense medicines, label, package, and issue them to patients.
• Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, storage, side effects, and adherence.
• Maintain precise pharmacy records, drug registers, and stock logs.
• Monitor stock levels, conduct regular stock‑taking, and report shortages or expiries.
• Ensure proper storage of medicines according to manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
• Assist with procurement and inventory management of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
• Participate in quality‑assurance, infection‑prevention, and medication‑safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimise patient care.
• Uphold confidentiality and comply with Pharmacy and Poisons Board regulations and hospital policies.

Required profile

• Entry‑level qualification with up to 24 months of relevant experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Excellent communication skills for patient counseling and teamwork.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
