Pharmaceutical Technologist – Locum (Kenya)

About the role

Penda Health is seeking a motivated Pharmaceutical Technologist on a locum basis to join its network of medical centres across Nairobi, Kiambu and Kajiado. You will play a key part in delivering safe, high‑quality pharmacy services and ensuring an excellent patient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, verify and dispense prescriptions in line with Penda policies.
• Monitor and record drug storage conditions, including fridge and room temperatures.
• Track expiry dates, manage stock levels and conduct monthly stock takes.
• Maintain documentation for Dangerous Drugs Act (DDA) regulated medicines.
• Collaborate with clinical officers to promote rational, economical drug use.
• Provide courteous, patient‑focused service while upholding dignity and confidentiality.

Required profile

• Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognised institution.
• Registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya and holding a valid practising licence.
• At least one year of experience, preferably in a busy hospital setting.
• Strong computer application skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Fluent in English and Kiswahili with excellent communication abilities.
