Phlebotomist – Blood Collections Specialist 2 – Mobile

About the role

Join the Blood Bank of Hawaii as a Mobile Phlebotomist (Collections Specialist II) and play a vital part in saving lives across the islands. Under the direction of the Collections Manager, you will screen donors, perform phlebotomy, and operate automated collection equipment while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Verify donor identification, conduct history interviews, measure vital signs, and perform hemoglobin testing to determine eligibility.
• Execute routine and special phlebotomies, prepare equipment, perform venipuncture, label blood bags, and record collection data accurately.
• Provide continuous donor care, explain procedures, monitor post‑donation reactions, and encourage repeat donations.
• Operate and monitor automated collection systems, perform quality‑control checks on equipment and reagents, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail for donor screening and documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to educate and reassure donors.
