Plant Engineer – Engineering & Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Plant Engineer will lead engineering and maintenance activities for a confectionery manufacturing division, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of processing, packaging, and utility equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for all plant assets.
• Establish machine‑specific maintenance schedules and monitor equipment performance to improve reliability.
• Coordinate engineering resources to minimise production downtime and support start‑ups, changeovers, and breakdowns.
• Lead root‑cause analysis investigations, track MTBF/MTTR, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage plant utilities including water treatment, steam, compressed air, refrigeration, HVAC, power distribution and wastewater treatment.
• Ensure all activities comply with food safety, GMP and engineering standards.
