Plant Operator III

About the role

The Plant Operator III is responsible for operating and monitoring plant machinery and equipment at the Nakuru County Public Service Board. The role involves routine inspections, basic maintenance, and ensuring safe handling of equipment while following health and safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant machinery and equipment.
• Carry out routine inspections and basic maintenance.
• Identify and report mechanical faults.
• Maintain operational records.
• Ensure safe handling of equipment and follow workplace health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D or equivalent.
• Passed Suitability Test for Plant Operators Grade III.
• Valid Plant Operator Certificate (NITA/NCA Trade Test Grade II) and a clean Class B, C, E, G driving licence.
• Ability to operate at least two plants of ‘difficult rating’ C (grader, excavator or roller) and perform pre‑checks, greasing and minor maintenance.
• First‑Aid Certificate (minimum one‑day course) from a recognized institution.
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police.
