Polymer Sales Manager – Nairobi

About the role

The client, a leading organization in the chemical and polymer raw‑materials sector, is seeking an experienced Polymer Sales Manager to lead sales growth across Kenya. The role focuses on driving market penetration of a broad portfolio of polymer products and building strong relationships with industrial customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue, volume, profitability and market‑share targets.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities in sectors such as packaging, infrastructure, manufacturing and consumer goods.
• Promote and sell polymer products including PP, PE, PVC, PET, ABS, PS and specialty polymers.
• Build and maintain relationships with key industrial customers, converters and plastic processors.
• Lead, mentor and manage the sales team to meet business objectives and foster a high‑performance culture.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing movements and customer demand to support commercial decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field; MBA in Marketing or Sales Management is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in polymer sales, petrochemical distribution, plastic raw‑material trading or a related industry.
• Proven track record in business development, key‑account management and B2B industrial sales.
• Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation, contract and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to build, motivate and manage high‑performing sales teams.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of polymer products: PP, PE, PVC, PET, ABS, PS and specialty polymers.
• Expertise in B2B sales and business development within industrial markets.
• Negotiation and contract management.
