Port Operations Maintenance Superintendent

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a Port Operations Maintenance Superintendent in Mombasa, Kenya. The role oversees daily maintenance of port facilities, waterfront structures, equipment and operational assets, supervising repair, inspection and preventive maintenance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance operations and coordinate, schedule and supervise maintenance teams carrying out repairs, inspections and preventive maintenance on port infrastructure.
• Ensure proper upkeep of piers, fender systems, bollards, mooring equipment, small-boat facilities and associated support structures.
• Manage work orders, maintenance logs, material usage and documentation in line with Navy and program standards.
• Conduct regular facility and equipment inspections to identify deficiencies, safety hazards and required corrective actions.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations and logistics teams to support vessel movements and port readiness.
• Support emergency response actions such as storm preparation, equipment failures and safety incidents.
• Provide guidance and oversight to maintenance personnel and communicate operational updates and maintenance status to supervisors and Navy leadership.

Required profile

• 1-3 years of experience in port operations, facility or industrial maintenance or related technical environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in maintenance management, marine operations or engineering preferred.
• Ability to read, speak and understand English well enough to perform contract requirements and comply with emergency procedures.
• Valid passport for at least one year at hiring, ability to obtain country-specific visas, and ability to pass contract medical requirements.
• Preferred: previous experience supporting Navy port operations or maritime facility programs, familiarity with Navy port standards and inspection requirements, experience in remote, industrial or maritime environments, and a valid country driver's license.
