Principal Software Developer – Lead Architecture & Integration

About the role

Lead the development team in creating and deploying digital channel and business software solutions, overseeing system integrations from requirements through deployment and support. Ensure every solution is secure, maintainable, and aligned with Britam’s enterprise architecture while providing hands‑on technical guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Technical leadership across digital channel development projects, guiding architecture, integration design and technology choices for web, mobile and USSD platforms.
• Monitor and enforce coding standards and best practices to ensure consistency and quality.
• Adhere to the software development lifecycle, ensuring gate processes and deliverables are met.
• Provide solution architecture and detailed system designs aligned with enterprise architecture.
• Assess and develop developers’ technical skills through certifications and training.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Minimum 4 years of application development experience, including system customization and report design.
• At least 3 years of experience leading or managing development teams.
• Proven experience with middleware technologies such as Github, Azure Integration Services and WSO2.

Required skills

• Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
• Native mobile application development (Android/iOS).
• Proficiency in SPA frameworks – Angular, React, Flutter, Vue.js.
