Procurement Coordinator

About the role

Fairtrade Africa is seeking a Procurement Coordinator to manage supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and purchase oversight. The role ensures that all acquisitions are cost‑efficient, high‑quality, and aligned with the organization’s fair‑trade objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate suppliers, products, and services against quality and cost criteria.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with approved vendors.
• Monitor purchases to guarantee cost‑effectiveness and compliance with standards.
• Develop, streamline, and document procurement processes.
• Maintain transparent, efficient, and cost‑effective procurement operations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement with program needs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply‑chain functions.
• Strong analytical and negotiation abilities.
• Understanding of fair‑trade principles and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Relevant tertiary education in business, supply‑chain management, or a related field.
