About the role
The Procurement Officer will manage all procurement and supply‑chain activities for the organisation, ensuring compliance with internal SOPs and donor regulations. This part‑time position supports program teams, vendors and finance to deliver goods and services efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate daily procurement processes, from purchase requests to goods receipt, using the organisation’s standard paperwork.
- Facilitate procurement and contract committees, evaluate bids, and maintain transparent documentation.
- Manage vendor relationships, conduct due‑diligence, and keep the supplier database and price catalogue up to date.
- Ensure Kenyan tax compliance, validate invoices, and track expenditures against project budgets.
- Support logistics, asset tagging, and inventory management for field deployments.
- Maintain audit‑ready procurement files and weekly status reports for program managers.
- Integrate safeguarding principles into procurement activities and uphold organisational ethics.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration or related field.
- 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in an NGO or human‑rights context.
- Active registration with KISM or CIPS (preferred).
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the DCI.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Swahili.
