Procurement Specialist – China to Africa

About the role

The Procurement Specialist – China will lead all sourcing, procurement and supply‑chain activities that connect Chinese suppliers with Rendeavour’s operations across Africa. You will be responsible for identifying reliable manufacturers, negotiating contracts, overseeing quality, and ensuring timely, cost‑effective delivery of goods.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pre‑qualify and manage a pool of Chinese suppliers and manufacturers.
• Lead negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favourable terms and high‑quality products.
• Conduct factory visits, supplier audits and due‑diligence to ensure compliance with quality and ethical standards.
• Manage end‑to‑end procurement of construction materials, equipment, IT, marketing items and other operational needs.
• Prepare RFQs, evaluate bids, draft contracts and track orders from placement to shipment.
• Oversee shipping, customs clearance and logistics from China to various African destinations, working with freight forwarders and clearing agents.
• Monitor Incoterms, manage export documentation and mitigate risks such as delays or quality issues.
• Coordinate with Africa procurement teams, finance, project and farm units to align sourcing with demand forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with Rendeavour’s procurement policies, international trade regulations and ESG standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of procurement and international sourcing experience, with 3‑5 years focused on China‑Africa trade.
• Fluency in Mandarin and English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
• Professional certification such as CIPS or CPSM is an advantage.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP/procurement systems.
• Supply chain analytics proficiency.
