Production Control Clerk / Service Writer

About the role

The Production Control Clerk / Service Writer supports the Production Control Supervisor and Maintenance Manager on Diego Garcia. The role focuses on accurate data entry, report generation, and logistical support for military and civilian equipment tracking.

Key responsibilities

• Input, update, and export equipment data using GCSS Army or approved LIS systems.
• Create and maintain custom equipment tracking databases and spreadsheets.
• Generate and deliver regular reports to management.
• Ensure maintenance records are kept in historical jackets and the GCSS‑ARMY system.
• Assist with on‑the‑job training, cross‑training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide logistical and administrative support to the maintenance team.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of hands‑on experience in production control, administration, or dispatching.
• Ability to obtain a valid driver’s license and military operator’s permits as needed.
• Willingness to work day, night, weekend, or overtime shifts.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using GCSS Army or GCSS‑ARMY maintenance management systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
