Production Manager - Lubricants

About the role

Stratostaff East Africa is recruiting a Production Manager in Nairobi for its lubricants business. The role covers blending and filling operations, inventory and supply coordination, cost control, and leadership of the production team, in line with operational excellence, HSSEQ and local statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Meet production deliverables for blending and filling safely, efficiently and reliably, in compliance with OE, HSSEQ and local statutory requirements.
• Lead daily and weekly tailgate and production planning meetings, and chair safety meetings; serve on the HSEQ Committee and as Assistant Emergency Team Commander.
• Monitor inventory levels, coordinate with supply chain, and keep stock loss/gain within target.
• Liaise with stakeholders on blending, loading and dispatch of bulk lubricants to customer sites under Service Level Agreements.
• Oversee the pull production system and OTIF targets for local and export orders, and reduce costs within the OPEX budget.
• Coordinate receipt and handling of raw materials, including base oil vessel discharge and additives in ISO tanks.
• Maintain ISO 9001 and act as ISO 14001:2015 (EMS) Management Representative; implement ONE MAESTRO principles and risk analysis.
• Analyze production data, simplify processes with the shifts, and achieve OEE targets.
• Prepare regular production reports and lead the production team, including hiring, training, performance evaluation and appraisals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Production Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in production, supply chain or engineering within a manufacturing or process industry.
• Understanding of marine operations, spill management, emergency response and sustainability.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of production processes and industrial standards.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
