Production Operations Officer – Banking

About the role

The Production Operations Officer will support day‑to‑day banking operations, handling customer instructions, payments processing, settlements, and transaction reconciliations. Reporting to the Manager/Team Leader of Production Operations, the role ensures compliance with bank policies and service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and validate customer instructions for financial and non‑financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and authenticity.
• Capture transactions in the banking system, remit and settle funds as requested, and escalate non‑conforming instructions.
• Prioritise work based on risk and processing requirements to meet SLA deadlines.
• Validate end‑of‑day processing, reconcile suspense accounts, and explain any variances.
• Maintain and file transaction records in line with document‑management procedures.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to verify documentation against customer instructions.
• Capability to prioritise tasks based on risk severity and meet strict service level agreements.
• Good understanding of banking products, services, and regulatory requirements.
• Effective communication for handling callbacks and special handling instructions.
