Program Temporary Support Assistant

About the role

Action Against Hunger USA is seeking a Program Temporary Support Assistant to support its advocacy work in the Horn of Africa. This short‑term position offers hands‑on experience in humanitarian policy research, digital campaigning and event coordination within a global non‑profit organization.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Regional Advocacy Specialist in planning, developing and implementing advocacy activities and campaigns.
• Conduct policy and research analysis, monitor humanitarian landscapes, and draft advocacy materials.
• Support the production of multi‑media packages, toolkits and social‑media content.
• Help organise workshops, webinars and training events, including logistics and follow‑up.
• Maintain external communication channels such as the website, social media platforms and monthly newsletters in collaboration with the Global Communications team.
• Ensure all external deliverables comply with branding and donor guidelines.

Required profile

• Strong interest in humanitarian issues and advocacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently under supervision and manage multiple tasks.
• Detail‑oriented with a proactive approach to identifying stories and content.
