Project Engineer – Manufacturing (Kenya)

About the role

Burn is seeking a senior Project Engineer to lead manufacturing‑related strategic initiatives in Kenya. The role partners closely with the CEO and executive team to shape and execute the company’s growth agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, refine, and drive Burn’s corporate strategy, ensuring alignment with mission and financial goals.
• Lead the annual strategic planning process, translating priorities into actionable business plans and OKRs.
• Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, geographic expansion, product categories, and business models.
• Conduct market assessments, feasibility studies, and build strategic business cases for investment decisions.
• Manage high‑impact strategic partnerships, negotiations, and relationships with corporate partners, development agencies, investors, and government bodies.
• Assess potential acquisitions, joint ventures, and alliances.
• Oversee enterprise‑wide financial modeling and investment analysis to support strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Strategy, Management, or a related field; MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification strongly preferred.
• 12–15 years of progressive experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, corporate development, business transformation, investment analysis, or executive leadership.
• Proven track record developing and executing enterprise‑level growth strategies in high‑growth, multinational or emerging‑market organizations.
• Experience working directly with executive leadership teams, boards, investors, and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success leading complex cross‑functional strategic initiatives and organizational transformation programs.
• Experience in clean energy, climate technology, consumer products, financial services, development finance, or emerging markets is highly desirable.
