Project Manager – Horizon 1000 Kenya

About the role

Amref Health Africa is seeking a Project Manager to lead the day‑to‑day implementation of the Horizon 1000 Kenya initiative, a proof‑of‑concept deployment of ethically designed artificial‑intelligence solutions across primary health‑care systems in Murang’a, Mombasa and Bungoma. Reporting to the Director of Impact & Innovation, the manager will ensure coordinated delivery, partner engagement and adherence to project values.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate project planning, implementation and monitoring across the three counties, aligning activities with work plans and objectives.
• Track budget, monitor risks and prepare funder reports, escalating significant variances.
• Manage day‑to‑day interactions with primary partners, specialist sub‑grantees, government counterparts and community stakeholders.
• Support administration of sub‑grant agreements, monitor performance and capture implementation learning for the national AI deployment playbook.
• Facilitate engagement with regulatory bodies and contribute to the development of a scaling framework.

Required profile

• Strong project‑management experience, preferably in health‑systems or digital‑health contexts.
• Knowledge of primary health‑care delivery and implementation science.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government, partners and community stakeholders.
• Commitment to co‑design, community‑centred approaches and ethical AI deployment.
