Project Manager (LN)

About the role

The Project Manager leads a cross-departmental team to meet project goals and manages the risk, quality and progress of projects to organizational standards. Projects are typically medium to high complexity, with multi-department to enterprise-wide impact and requiring a medium to large body of resources. The goal is to deliver projects on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, goals and deliverables with senior management and stakeholders, and set and manage expectations
• Plan and schedule timelines and milestones, track deliverables and define success criteria
• Draft and submit budget proposals, estimate resources, and negotiate staff time with other department managers; recruit additional staff or consultants when needed
• Develop full-scale project plans and communications documents, delegate tasks and resolve team conflicts
• Manage dependencies and the critical path, proactively handle scope changes and prepare contingency plans
• Deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations, and conduct postmortems and lessons-learned reports
• Coach, mentor and supervise team members and contractors, and build relationships vital to the project

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering; MBA preferred
• 7+ years of hands-on experience leading complex multi-disciplinary projects, including 3+ years at manager or director level
• Experience in resource management, working independently and in teams, and adapting to shifting priorities
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users and to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
• Some travel may be required to meet clients, stakeholders or off-site personnel

Required skills

• Industry project management certification (e.g. PMP, Prince2)
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, diagram/process flow software, conference software and statistical software
• Strong troubleshooting and technical research abilities
