About the role
The Project Officer will mentor refugee and host‑community youth participating in the NYOTA Business Development Services (BDS) programme in Kakuma. You will provide practical guidance, reinforce training, and help young entrepreneurs overcome business challenges and access market opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct at least four mentorship sessions over four months, creating a safe environment for participants to discuss business ideas and challenges.
- Provide practical advice on business planning, financial management, marketing, operations, pricing and record‑keeping.
- Facilitate connections to markets, value chains, financial services, cooperatives and business networks.
- Maintain accurate records of sessions, progress and feedback, and submit timely reports in line with NRC requirements.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Commerce, Economics, Development Studies, Livelihoods or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in business mentorship, enterprise coaching or advisory services.
- Practical entrepreneurship and business management experience, with knowledge of local micro‑enterprise contexts.
- Understanding of inclusive, gender‑responsive and culturally sensitive approaches.
