Protection & GBV Training Consultant (Kenya)

About the role
We are seeking a consultant to design, facilitate and document a high‑quality capacity‑building training programme for community protection actors in Dadaab, Kenya. The training will cover general protection, refugee protection, child protection, gender equality, gender‑based violence, survivor‑centered case management, referral systems and protection mainstreaming.
Key responsibilities
- Develop a context‑specific curriculum and training materials aligned with humanitarian standards.
- Deliver participatory training sessions to community protection structures, local authorities, service providers and community leaders.
- Assess participants’ knowledge before and after training and produce comprehensive documentation of outcomes.
- Coordinate with AVSI, local authorities and other humanitarian actors to strengthen referral pathways.
- Provide recommendations for improving community‑based protection mechanisms.
Required profile
- Proven experience in humanitarian protection, gender, child protection or GBV programming.
- Familiarity with the refugee context in Kenya, especially Dadaab.
- Strong facilitation and adult‑learning skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
