Public Area Attendant

About the role

The Public Area Attendant ensures that all guest‑facing spaces within the hotel are clean, tidy and welcoming. Working on the Limuru Road site, you will support the hospitality team by maintaining high standards of hygiene and providing courteous assistance to visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain lobbies, corridors, restrooms, meeting rooms and reception areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and polishing floors.
• Dust furniture, fixtures and decorative items to keep public spaces presentable.
• Replenish consumables such as tissue, soap and sanitizers, and monitor stock levels.
• Report maintenance issues, damages or safety hazards promptly.
• Greet guests professionally, provide directions and respond to basic inquiries.
• Assist with set‑up and breakdown of meeting rooms and event spaces, ensuring they are orderly before and after use.
• Follow strict hygiene, sanitation and occupational health and safety procedures.
• Maintain a neat personal appearance and uphold courteous conduct at all times.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within a hotel, hospitality or facility services environment.
• Strong understanding of cleaning procedures and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions accurately and report issues promptly.
