Quality Assurance Assistant

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Quality Assurance Assistant in Mombasa Road within its manufacturing business. The role covers daily quality checks, compliance with quality standards and supporting the quality manager.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse product samples daily for quality, durability and known specifications before the final stage of production
• Review work performance against company quality standards and identify potential product problems before they reach customers
• Research trends and patterns in customer complaints and record complaints or suggestions from customers and other stakeholders
• Prepare reports summarising audit and investigation findings and recommend solutions, and give feedback to management on improvements
• Follow GMP and HACCP to ensure compliance at all levels
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 certification through specification interpretation, writing procedures and maintaining the QMS
• Aid the quality manager in guiding and training production staff in quality measures
• Track calibrations and equipment inventory, and review incoming raw materials for defects
• Check that raw material drums have wheels and lids and are clean, and keep the working area and machines clean and safe

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in manufacturing, chemical engineering or analytical chemistry
• 2-3 years of experience as a quality assurance officer
• Experience in a plastic processing firm is an added advantage
• Positive attitude and leading by example

Required skills

• Basic understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
• QMS/FSMS knowledge is a plus
