Quality Inspector – Vehicle Assembly

About the role

The Quality Inspector ensures that every vehicle leaving the assembly line meets OEM specifications and quality standards. Working on‑site in Thika, the role involves inspecting components, documenting defects, and driving continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections at various stages of vehicle assembly to ensure compliance with OEM specifications and quality standards.
• Approve or reject components and assembled units based on quality criteria and document defects.
• Perform functional and dynamic tests such as wheel alignment, brake tests and road tests.
• Collect and analyse inspection data to identify trends, root causes and areas for improvement.
• Provide immediate feedback to assembly teams and prepare daily defect and product audit reports.
• Lead root‑cause analysis for severe or repetitive defects and coordinate corrective actions.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferably Automotive, Production or Manufacturing).
• Minimum two years of quality control experience in vehicle assembly or automobile manufacturing.
• Proven ability to conduct vehicle inspections and generate quality documentation.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to operate vehicles on site.
