Radio Technicians (6 Positions)

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring six full-time radio technicians based in Karatina, Tharaka and Nairobi. The role covers installation, configuration, maintenance and support of wireless network equipment such as radios, sector antennas and CPEs.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, align and commission wireless network equipment, including radios, sector antennas and CPEs, and perform basic network testing and signal assessments.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity, signal, equipment and network faults, monitoring links for interference, signal strength, channel configuration, RSSI, SNR and line-of-sight.
• Carry out routine maintenance, equipment checks, replacements and repairs to minimise service interruptions.
• Respond to customer technical issues, follow up reported faults to resolution and document installations, repairs and equipment changes, escalating complex faults when needed.
• Follow technical, electrical and equipment-handling safety procedures and work as part of a technical team within agreed timelines.

Required profile

• Certificate, diploma or relevant technical training in Telecommunications, ICT, Networking, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• Practical experience installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting wireless networks and related equipment.
• Good communication, problem-solving, teamwork and customer-service skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Ubiquiti airMAX/Rocket equipment, sector antennas, wireless CPEs and related networking gear.
• Understanding of radio frequencies, channel widths, interference, RSSI, SNR, line-of-sight and Fresnel zones.
