Records Management Officer (Entry Level)

About the role

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is recruiting a Records Management Officer for its headquarters offices in Nairobi. The position is at Grade IPOA 9 (one vacancy) within the Directorate of Human Resources and Administration, reporting to the Senior Records Management Officer II. The Authority provides civilian oversight of the police, and this cadre is responsible for maintaining records in the Authority.

Key responsibilities

• Implement policies, strategies, guidelines, plans, standards and procedures affecting records management, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Update records in the Authority.
• Implement the electronic records management system in collaboration with the ICT department.
• Maintain file movement records.
• Participate in sensitizing staff on records management.
• Implement the disaster preparedness, management and recovery programme.
• Collect and collate data for reports in the records management division.
• Implement risk mitigation measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Records Management, Library Science, Archives and Records Management, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
