Recruitment Lead (Fintech/Payments/Nigerian Market)

About the role

As Recruitment Lead, you will own and drive the talent acquisition strategy for a fintech payments company focused on the African market. You will refine recruitment processes, partner with functional leads, and ensure an exceptional candidate experience while scaling the team with top‑tier talent.

Key responsibilities

• Drive recruiting efforts across the organization, ensuring a large talent pool of bar‑raising candidates.
• Lead the full‑cycle recruitment process across multiple departments and levels.
• Collaborate with leadership and hiring managers to forecast hiring needs and develop workforce planning strategies.
• Develop and implement talent acquisition strategies aligned with company goals.
• Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline through sourcing, networking, and employer branding initiatives.
• Oversee recruitment metrics and provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership.
• Manage relationships with external agencies, platforms, and recruitment tools.
• Organize and attend job fairs, networking events, and employer branding initiatives.
• Stay informed on talent trends, compensation benchmarks, and labor market developments.

Required profile

• People‑person, adaptable and comfortable working in multicultural environments.
• At least 8 years of experience in HR/recruitment at fast‑growing tech start‑ups or scale‑ups.
• Proven experience recruiting top talent, especially for niche or hard‑to‑find talent pools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Excellent sourcing skills using LinkedIn, job boards, and social media.
• Proficient with Applicant Tracking Systems (bonus if Teamtailor).
• Data‑driven approach to recruitment and decision‑making.
• Passion for building relationships and tackling people‑related issues.
• Creative problem‑solver with a bias toward continuous learning and action.
