Regional Business Manager – Kenya

About the role

The Regional Business Manager will lead sales, collections and overall business operations for Sun King’s Pay‑As‑You‑Go solar products across Kenya. Working with a network of Field Sales Executives who sell door‑to‑door, you will ensure rapid, sustainable growth of the direct distribution channel.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, retain and motivate a regional team of Area Business Managers, Store Executives and Field Sales Executives.
• Provide comprehensive training on sales, collections, product knowledge, inventory and logistics.
• Define clear sales routes, targets and daily tasks for each agent.
• Conduct weekly touchpoints and joint fieldwork to coach agents and resolve issues.
• Meet or exceed monthly sales and collection targets and report progress.
• Monitor market dynamics, protect the business against competition and strengthen the Sun King brand.
• Resolve customer queries within 24 hours and oversee after‑sales support.
• Control marketing spend and ensure optimal ROI on equipment and smartphone issuance.
• Review performance through regular meetings, surprise visits and recognition of top performers.

Required profile

• Degree in Business or equivalent with at least 6 years of hands‑on sales experience.
• Strong computer proficiency, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proven ability to motivate high‑performing sales teams and drive results.
• Innovative, cost‑conscious mindset with excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Effective relationship‑building with internal and external stakeholders.
• Disciplined, detail‑oriented approach focused on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
