Regional Compliance Manager

About the role

Welthungerhilfe is seeking a Regional Compliance Manager to lead corporate compliance across its East & Southern Africa Directorate. The role will be based in one of the partner countries (Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Zimbabwe or Malawi) and will focus on preventing, detecting, and responding to compliance risks in humanitarian programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage corporate compliance for the Regional Directorate, covering fraud and corruption prevention, conflicts of interest, sanctions screening, data protection, safeguarding and sensitive complaints.
• Provide functional leadership to compliance officers and focal points in each country office, ensuring consistent implementation of global compliance policies.
• Implement and strengthen the Corporate Compliance Management Program, establishing effective “prevent, detect, respond” processes.
• Deliver compliance training to staff and partners and maintain accurate training records.
• Channel sensitive compliance complaints through the global Complaints Response Mechanism.
• Initiate, conduct, or oversee investigations of compliance cases within the region.
• Collaborate closely with program, finance, and legal teams to align compliance activities with organisational objectives.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (law, public administration, international development or related field).
• Proven experience in corporate compliance, risk management or anti‑corruption within an international or humanitarian context.
• Strong knowledge of international sanctions regimes, data protection standards and safeguarding principles.
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills, with ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
• Fluency in English; additional language(s) spoken in the region are an advantage.
