Regional Relationship Manager – Biashara Banking (North-East)

About the role

The Regional Relationship Manager for Biashara Banking will oversee business activities across the North‑Eastern region, ensuring that Equity Bank’s strategies, goals and objectives are met. The role focuses on customer recruitment, deposit mobilisation, asset growth and the identification of investment and insurance opportunities while maintaining high quality and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily loan origination and disbursement at branch level, identifying and addressing any malpractices.
• Engage with staff on arrears management, reviewing daily arrears reports and ensuring timely follow‑up.
• Provide relationship management for borrowers throughout the region and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Conduct refresher training, mentor and coach branch staff on credit processes and quality standards.
• Drive business growth by developing sector products, managing partnerships and organising marketing initiatives.
• Lead weekly performance reviews, identify talent gaps and recommend staff deployment to meet regional needs.
• Act as a brand ambassador, enforcing service delivery within agreed SLAs and supporting ecosystem onboarding.

Required profile

• Business‑related university degree.
• Minimum 6 years experience as a Relationship Supervisor in Biashara Banking.
• Strong interpersonal, coaching and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Excellent planning, organising and leadership skills with a detail‑oriented mindset.
• Deep understanding of micro‑finance industry practices.
