Registered Nurse I, Surgery Care

About the role

The Registered Nurse I, Surgery Care supports members throughout their Transcarent Surgery Care journey, applying clinical judgment, member navigation, and operational coordination to deliver timely, accurate, and high‑quality support.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct clinical intake, assess member suitability for the Surgery Care program, and determine appropriate Center of Excellence placement.
• Coordinate the full case pathway, including scheduling, benefits verification, pre‑authorization, and facility logistics.
• Serve as the clinical point of contact for assigned Centers of Excellence, managing referrals, post‑operative follow‑up, and surgical approval documentation.
• Maintain accurate documentation of interactions, clinical information, and case status in internal systems and Salesforce, and escalate risks or workflow issues as needed.

Required profile

• BSN or RN with a bachelor’s degree and 3‑5 years of acute care experience, or ADN/AAS with 5‑6 years of acute care experience.
• Active multi‑state RN licensure; surgery or related specialty experience preferred.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a member‑first mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic medical record (EMR) systems, contact‑center platforms, and Salesforce.
• Ability to manage high‑volume caseloads, document clinical information accurately, and identify/escalate clinical risks.
