Remote Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Turing, a leading AI research accelerator, is seeking experienced Machine Learning Engineers to work on benchmark‑driven evaluation projects. This fully remote contractor role focuses on real‑world ML systems, from data preparation to model training, evaluation, and deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, run, and modify model training, evaluation, and inference pipelines on production‑grade codebases.
• Prepare datasets, features, and metrics for benchmarking and validation tasks.
• Debug, refactor, and optimise ML systems for correctness and performance.
• Assess model behaviour, failure modes, and edge cases relevant to benchmark objectives.
• Write clean, reproducible, and well‑documented Python code for ML workflows.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with researchers and engineers to design challenging evaluation tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Software Engineer with an ML focus.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data and ML workflows.
• Hands‑on experience with model training, evaluation, and inference pipelines.
• Solid understanding of supervised/unsupervised learning, evaluation metrics, and optimisation.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
