Restaurant Captain (Lead Server)

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Restaurant Captain to lead our front‑of‑house team, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for every guest. The Captain will coordinate seating, manage orders, and supervise staff to maintain high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests, assess seating needs (table size, smoking preference, availability) and escort them to appropriate tables.
• Present the menu, explain dishes, and take accurate orders, directing them to the kitchen or bar as required.
• Monitor order timing, ensuring dishes reach guests at the requested moment.
• Supervise and coach the service team, guaranteeing adherence to service standards and hygiene protocols.
• Apply up‑selling and cross‑selling techniques to enhance sales and meet customer expectations.
• Provide detailed explanations of menu components, checking for any dietary restrictions or health concerns.
• Ensure proper table settings, including cutlery, and maintain a professional appearance.

Required profile

• Diploma in Hotel Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in restaurant or hotel service environments.
• Positive attitude toward customers and colleagues.
• Strong communication skills and high attention to detail.
• Organised, accurate and knowledgeable about market trends and competitors.

Required skills

• Product knowledge of menu items.
• Understanding of hospitality standards and service procedures.
