About the role
The Risk, Governance and Compliance Intern will support Save the Children Kenya’s finance and programme teams in delivering efficient external audit assistance and promoting a culture of compliance across the programme and its partners.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the full external audit process, including document preparation, timelines communication and field support.
- Liaise with programme and department staff to provide management comments and clarify auditor queries.
- Track audit findings, communicate recommendations to the Risk, Governance and Compliance Manager and follow up on corrective actions.
- Visit field offices to review financial and non‑financial processes against Save the Children regulations.
- Archive audit documentation and retrieve records as needed.
- Review award files and reports prior to donor audits to ensure completeness and compliance.
Required profile
- Recent graduate or current student with an interest in risk, governance and compliance.
- Ability to work under the direction of the Internal Controls and Compliance Coordinator.
- Strong collaboration skills to work closely with finance and programme teams.
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
