Finance Intern

About the role

Save the Children Kenya is seeking a Finance Intern to support its finance team in day‑to‑day financial operations. This role offers hands‑on experience in a dynamic humanitarian environment, contributing to the organization’s mission of improving children’s lives across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with invoice reconciliation on the ProSave platform, ensuring documentation is accurate and complete.
• Prepare and authorize Mpesa payment vouchers and process payments.
• Support filing and archiving of finance documents, maintaining a secure and searchable system.
• Prepare General Ledger and Cash Offline Spreadsheets (GLACOS) with correct charge codes.
• Participate in monthly bank reconciliation and payroll statutory deductions processing.
• Back up finance documents in the Document Management System (DMS) promptly.
• Perform weekly single‑account/balance‑sheet reconciliations and prepare schedules for review.
• Prepare adjustment and reallocation journal entries.
• Assist with audit requirements and ensure compliance with Save the Children International (SCI) rules.
• Upload manual payments in ProSave and ensure proper approval.
