Safety Inspector

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Safety Inspector to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures compliance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers safety standards and promotes a safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a Safety Program aligned with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, monitor compliance, and prepare detailed inspection reports.
• Investigate incidents, produce incident reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate safety records for assets and ensure documentation meets regulatory standards.
• Perform risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Provide safety training and guidance to site personnel.
• Coordinate with leadership, supervisors, and contractors to align safety goals with operational objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in safety inspection or program implementation, preferably in a government or military setting.
• Familiarity with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport with at least one year of validity at hiring.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout deployment.
