Sales Manager – Polymers (Nairobi, Kenya)

About the role

The company, a leading trader and distributor of polymers, is seeking a driven Sales Manager to lead its polymers portfolio in Kenya. Reporting to the Business Head, you will shape product positioning, identify market opportunities and ensure revenue, tonnage and margin targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new customers and deepen relationships with existing clients to grow the polymers business.
• Achieve sales, tonnage, revenue and gross‑margin targets through proactive business development.
• Conduct market mapping, research and analysis to uncover new product opportunities.
• Manage customer payments, credit limits and debtor reconciliations while monitoring credit risk.
• Oversee operational costs related to clearing, warehousing, transport and distribution, driving efficiency and cost reduction.
• Maintain a strong market presence through regular visits, networking and understanding customer requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (preferred).
• Minimum 5 + years of experience in polymer sales, with exposure to polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and PVC.
• Hands‑on experience with raw polymer granules in trading, distribution or manufacturing.
• Proven experience in the Kenyan market or other African markets.
• Strong analytical abilities, commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
