Sales Officer

About the role

The Sales Officer will drive revenue growth by expanding the customer base for CO2 cylinders, dry ice and bulk CO2 solutions. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the role combines sales, business development and customer service within the industrial gases sector.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prospect new customers for cylinder, dry ice and bulk CO2 products.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly sales reports, including actual, budgeted and target figures.
• Generate accurate sales documentation such as quotations, delivery notes, invoices and cash receipts.
• Collect market intelligence on competitor pricing and activities and advise management.
• Negotiate terms, close sales and ensure proper follow‑up on deliveries, cylinder refills and rentals.
• Develop new applications for CO2 and recommend usage to existing clients.
• Provide technical support for retail products and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Monitor credit control, follow up on outstanding debts and manage collection of non‑rental cylinders.
• Deliver on sales targets and report on customer visits.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in sales engineering, industrial gases or FMCG sales.
• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Sales or Marketing; professional diploma in sales and marketing is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to analyse consumption trends and forecast customer needs.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CO2 cylinder, dry ice and bulk CO2 products.
• Experience with sales documentation and reporting.
• Understanding of market intelligence gathering.
