Sales Representative – Agriculture (Kisumu, Kenya)

About the role

Our client, a reputable agricultural company operating in the Nyanza region, is looking for a motivated Sales Representative to drive product demand, support distributors and build strong customer relationships across Kisumu and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Drive product demand and pull‑through from assigned distributors by engaging agrovets, stockists and farmers.
• Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets set by the Sales Manager.
• Build and maintain relationships with key customers, providing product education and basic after‑sales support.
• Monitor distributor stock levels to ensure optimal movement and avoid stock‑outs or overstocking.
• Support payment collections from credit customers and flag any delays or risks.
• Gather and report market intelligence on customer preferences, competitor activities and market trends.
• Execute promotional campaigns, activations and represent the company at field days, exhibitions and distributor‑led events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Agribusiness or a related field.
• At least 4 years of field sales experience, preferably in agriculture, animal health or FMCG.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑management abilities.
• Familiarity with the Nyanza region and willingness to travel extensively within the territory.
• Self‑starter capable of working independently and meeting targets with minimal supervision.
• Strong organisational and reporting skills.
