Sales Representative – Hardware

About the role

Our client, a leading manufacturer and supplier of hardware and construction products in Kenya, is looking for a motivated Sales Representative – Hardware. The role focuses on expanding the company’s presence across hardware shops, dealers, retailers and distributors in Nairobi and the wider market.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the hardware and retail channel.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with hardware shops, dealers, retailers and distributors.
• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for the product portfolio.
• Conduct regular market visits to assess customer needs, monitor competitor activity and uncover emerging opportunities.
• Present and promote products, highlighting features, benefits and value.
• Follow up on leads, quotations, orders and enquiries to convert prospects into sales.
• Monitor stock availability and product movement across the retail channel.
• Provide sales reports, market feedback and competitor insights to management.
• Support promotional activities and product demonstrations to increase visibility.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 24 months of proven sales experience in hardware shops, building materials or retail hardware channels.
• Experience selling through dealer and retailer networks.
• Strong knowledge of the Kenyan hardware market and distribution channels.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
