Scheduling SME – Customer Excellence Specialist

About the role

SmartPM is looking for a Scheduling Subject Matter Expert to join its Professional Services team. You will work directly with general contractor customers, helping them extract maximum value from SmartPM’s construction project controls analytics platform.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted scheduling resource for contractor project controls and management teams, tailoring support to each customer’s maturity level.
• Engage sophisticated customers in peer‑level technical discussions on schedule quality, delay risk, and project health.
• Guide mid‑market contractors in establishing CPM scheduling standards, review cadences, and disciplined practices.
• Explain schedule performance metrics (SPI, compression, float, critical‑path health) to both corporate staff and field leadership.
• Benchmark customer schedules against industry and SmartPM best practices.
• Drive adoption of the SmartPM platform within contractor workflows, including owner‑mandated implementations.
• Collaborate with Sales on demonstrations, provide product feedback to Engineering, and support marketing initiatives.
• Partner with Customer Success to ensure long‑term satisfaction and retention.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on CPM scheduling experience, preferably as a Project Scheduler/Planner at a large ENR‑ranked general contractor, construction manager, or design‑build firm.
• Proven ability to communicate technical scheduling concepts to both senior in‑house schedulers and emerging teams.
• Comfortable operating across a spectrum of scheduling maturities, from mature controls departments to building new practices from scratch.

Required skills
