About the role

Shining Hope For Communities (SHOFCO) seeks a community‑oriented, grass‑roots professional to lead its scholarship programme in Siaya County, Kenya. The Scholarship Coordinator will ensure the most vulnerable girls receive the comprehensive support needed to enrol, attend school and thrive.

Key responsibilities

Run and manage SHOFCO’s scholarship programme across five target counties.
Drive re‑enrolment of scholarship recipients and provide “boots on the ground” support.
Act as the primary liaison between SHOFCO, schools, scholars and families.
Build authentic relationships to identify and comprehensively support scholarship recipients.
Embed programme activities within SHOFCO’s Urban Network (SUN) community‑organising approach.
Ensure scholar identification and support remain strongly grass‑roots based.

Required profile

Community‑oriented individual with a grassroots mindset.
Passion for supporting vulnerable girls in education.
Ability to work full‑time in Siaya County and travel within target areas.
