About the role
The School Operations Officer will manage the day‑to‑day operational functions of a well‑established educational institution. This role ensures a safe, efficient, and well‑maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors, covering transport, facilities, security, and housekeeping.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the school’s transportation system, including vehicle maintenance, route planning, scheduling, and safety compliance.
- Supervise maintenance of buildings, grounds, utilities, landscaping, and coordinate routine and emergency repairs.
- Manage security personnel, access control systems, asset tracking, and ensure protection of people and property.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, emergency preparedness, and regulatory requirements; coordinate drills and inspections.
- Lead transport, maintenance, grounds, security, and housekeeping staff, handling schedules and performance management.
- Coordinate contractors and casual workers, ensuring work meets required standards.
- Oversee housekeeping services for guest houses, maintaining cleanliness, safety, and stock levels.
- Provide logistical support for school activities, boarding, faculty, and guests.
- Monitor supplies, equipment, and operational purchases, promoting cost‑effective resource use.
- Support operational budgeting, cost control, compliance audits, and implement recommendations.
- Maintain accurate operational records, including attendance, leave, maintenance, transport, security, and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with staff, neighbours, contractors, and service providers on operational matters.
- Report regularly to School Management and address operational challenges promptly.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in operations, facilities, administration, or a similar role.
- Proven ability to supervise diverse teams and manage multiple operational functions.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory compliance in an educational setting.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.

What we offer
- Competitive gross salary of Ksh 60,000 – 70,000 per month.
