School Teacher – Music, Fine Arts & Theatre (Senior Secondary)

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and passionate teacher to lead Music, Fine Arts and Theatre programmes for senior secondary students. The role involves designing engaging curricula, delivering lessons across multiple artistic disciplines, and nurturing students’ creative expression in line with Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver music, drama and fine arts lessons for diverse age groups and skill levels.
• Teach musical theory, vocal techniques, instrument playing, acting methods and stage performance.
• Organise school concerts, plays, recitals and other artistic showcases.
• Incorporate ICT tools for design, production and presentation of fine artwork.
• Introduce indigenous and African crafts and guide film‑production projects rooted in Kenyan culture.
• Assess student work, provide timely feedback and maintain records.
• Ensure proper care of musical instruments, drama props and art materials.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and school management to enhance the overall arts programme.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Music, Performing Arts or a related field.
• Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
• 2–3 years of proven teaching experience in music, fine arts and theatre under the CBE curriculum.
• Strong communication and classroom‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using ICT for artistic design and presentation.
