Secretary – Grade Five (5)

About the role

The University is seeking a Secretary (Grade Five) to provide comprehensive secretarial and office support. The role requires a Diploma in Secretarial Studies and involves handling a variety of administrative tasks in a university environment. It is a permanent, pensionable position and the University encourages applications from all genders, marginalized groups and persons with disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Take oral dictation and perform word and data processing using standard office software.
• Manage the e‑office system, handle telephone calls, schedule appointments and maintain electronic records.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date filing system, ensure security of office records, documents and equipment, and oversee office protocol.
• Operate office equipment such as photocopiers and printers, and manage office petty cash.

Required profile

• Diploma in Secretarial Studies from KNEC or an equivalent accredited institution.
• At least one year of relevant work experience in an administrative setting.
