Senior Accountant

About the role

Avo Africa Tanzania, a sister concern of Keitt Exporters Limited, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its finance team. Based at the Keitt Head Office in Nairobi, the role will support accounting, financial reporting, controls and compliance for the avocado export business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, supplier payments, customer accounts and outstanding balances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and variance reporting.
• Prepare and review statutory and tax‑related accounting information.
• Maintain proper financial controls, documentation, approvals and supporting records.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders as required.
• Analyse operational, production and export‑related costs and provide financial insights to management.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and statutory requirements.

Required profile

• 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a senior accountant role.
• CPA qualification and/or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, taxation, reconciliations, statutory compliance and internal controls.
• Good analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, maintain accuracy and meet reporting deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems.

What we offer

• Gross salary of KES 100,000–110,000 per month.
• Airtime allowance.
