Senior Accountant – Multi‑Branch Hospital Operations

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead financial operations across all hospital branches, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance and optimal cash flow. Reporting to the CEO/Finance Director, you will provide strategic insights that support sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accounting functions for all branches and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Consolidate branch reports, maintain the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts, and ensure timely month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Coordinate annual budgeting, monitor variances, and produce forecasts and cash‑flow projections.
• Manage tax compliance, file VAT, PAYE, corporate and withholding tax returns, and liaise with tax authorities.
• Ensure integration of the Hospital Information Management System (HIMS) with accounting systems, monitor billing accuracy and insurance claims.
• Drive revenue‑cycle management, reconcile patient billing, and improve debt‑collection processes.
• Design and implement internal controls, conduct branch audits and enforce financial policies.

Required profile

• Senior‑level accounting experience (minimum 8 years).
• Proven ability to manage multi‑branch financial operations in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax regulations and statutory reporting.
