Senior Advisor for Child Protection in Emergencies

About the role

The Senior Advisor for Child Protection in Emergencies provides technical leadership and strategic direction for World Vision’s child protection programming in humanitarian contexts. This senior position shapes interventions, builds capacity, and ensures child protection is integrated across all response activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, testing, and revision of child protection in emergencies (CPiE) strategies aligned with World Vision’s response plans.
• Integrate CPiE considerations into sector strategies such as food security, education, and health.
• Support the design and development of CPiE project proposals and donor engagement to secure funding.
• Provide technical guidance, case studies, learning reviews, and publications for CPiE.
• Build capacity of field staff and partners through training, coaching, and technical support.
• Recruit, manage, and engage a roster of surge‑ready CPiE experts.
• Represent World Vision in global CPiE networks and inter‑agency forums.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in child protection within humanitarian emergencies.
• Proven ability to lead technical and strategic initiatives at a senior level.
• Strong collaboration skills with multi‑sector teams and external partners.
• Experience developing proposals and securing donor funding for protection programs.
