Senior Associate Engineer – Data Center Operations

About the role

The Senior Associate Engineer ensures reliable and efficient operation of the data centre’s technical infrastructure in Mombasa. You will lead maintenance, troubleshooting and on‑call activities while supporting customer SLAs and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate equipment switching, energy‑efficiency measures and compliance with industry standards.
• Lead maintenance, repair and upgrade projects, supervising contractors and junior engineers.
• Perform on‑call monitoring, incident management and execution of emergency operating procedures.
• Document changes, progress and deviations, and drive continuous improvement.
• Enforce health‑and‑safety policies, prepare work permits, risk assessments and method‑of‑procedure documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in operations and maintenance of electrical/mechanical systems in a data‑centre environment.
• Strong problem‑analysis, root‑cause analysis and customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and guide junior staff.
