Senior Associate – Financial and Grants Management

About the role

PwC is looking for a Senior Associate to support the delivery and growth of its International Development Consulting practice in East Africa. The role is client‑facing, working with governments, development partners, foundations and NGOs to design, implement and strengthen development programmes across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of consulting assignments and donor‑funded programmes from inception through implementation to closure.
• Develop workplans, schedules, budgets and resource plans; track progress, risks and issues to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, technical experts, partners and client stakeholders across assignments.
• Prepare progress reports, performance updates and client‑facing deliverables.
• Assist with monitoring, evaluation, learning and adaptive management activities.
• Support design, establishment and operationalisation of development funds, grant facilities and other donor‑funded financing instruments.
• Help clients develop fund governance structures, operational manuals, grant management frameworks and fiduciary control systems.

Required profile

• Strong analytical capability and structured problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written communication and report‑writing abilities.
• Proven ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government officials, development partners and NGOs.
