Senior Associate - Strategic Accounts

About the role

As a Senior Associate – Strategic Accounts you will drive growth of VIDA’s portfolio in climate, energy and resilience sectors. You will build and nurture relationships with donors, partners and clients, and help the company win new projects across East Africa and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Generate leads and conduct market intelligence using tools such as DevelopmentAid.
• Qualify opportunities against client needs, budgets and VIDA’s strategic priorities.
• Track programmes, funding streams, donor priorities and competitor activity to identify market gaps.
• Map and engage potential partners – engineering firms, consultancies and other organisations.
• Prepare outreach materials and maintain relationships with existing and prospective partners.
• Support partnership agreements and joint proposals.
• Write and coordinate technical and financial proposals for donors such as the World Bank and African Development Bank.
• Collaborate with Data Solutions and Product teams to gather technical inputs for proposals.
• Maintain accurate records in HubSpot and report on bid outcomes.
• Produce business development collateral – decks, one‑pagers, case studies.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in business development, partnerships or consulting.
• Proven track record of contributing to or winning new opportunities through tenders, procurement or partner channels.
• Familiarity with international development funding and procurement processes.
• Good understanding of climate and energy topics and ability to discuss them with senior stakeholders.
• Experience working across different geographies and cultural contexts.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred but not mandatory.
